During a Houston town hall last night, Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden told a young girl, “I bet you’re as bright as you are good looking.”
In an exchange with the girl, Biden said, “I’m going to write you a longer answer and tell you the exact things I would do, okay? Promise. I’ll bet you’re as bright as you are good-looking…”
When the former vice president discovered that journalism was the girl’s favorite subject, he took her hand and escorted her towards the media in the back of the room where put his hands on her shoulders and bent down to talk with her.
“By the way, that’s one of the things that’s [a] dangerous idea. You know, these guys will tell you, I’m not always their favorite subject. But the truth of the matter is the reason we are who we are is called a free press,” he said, while his hands were still on her shoulders.

Last month, Biden responded to allegations of misconduct after multiple women claimed he touched them inappropriately.
In a video posted on Twitter, Biden says, “I always tried to make a human connection. That’s my responsibility, I think. I shake hands. I hug people. I grab men and women by the shoulders and say ‘you can do this.’ Whether they’re women, men, young, old…it’s the way i’ve tried to show I care about them and I’m listening…It’s just who I am.”
In the tweet, Biden wrote, “Social norms are changing. I understand that, and I’ve heard what these women are saying. Politics to me has always been about making connections, but I will be more mindful about respecting personal space in the future. That’s my responsibility and I will meet it.”
