The preliminary numbers for July indicate that monthly illegal immigration is now at its highest level since the year 2000, and the crisis has no signs of slowing down.
While the Democrats on Capitol Hill are happy to ignore the crisis or propose non-solutions for it, Democrat border mayors, who are actually suffering the consequences, are singing a different tune.
Laredo, Texas’ Democrat Mayor Pete Saenz appeared on Fox yesterday to provide an update on the situation. “Our situation is, is that we get the overflow from the RGV, which is the Rio Grande Valley area, which is about 150 miles downriver southeast of Laredo,” he said. “They’re so overwhelmed that they have been sending buses of migrants to our people. And then these migrants are not tested. There’s a high probability that they have COVID. Some in the last group or two that we have received, before the 10-day period, they were coming at close to 40 percent positive on COVID.”
