Democratic Presidential Candidates are the NRA’s Best Fundraisers

“Hell, yes, we’re going to take your AR-15’s, your AK-47’s” said Beto O’Rourke during the third Democratic primary debate. The message was clear: Democrats are fully willing and prepared to come after law abiding citizens who own guns.

Beto is not alone when it comes to disdain for the second amendment. Kamala Harris, Corry Booker and Joe Biden have all proposed substantial changes to the legality of gun ownership for citizens of the United States should any one of them be elected president. From supporting mandatory buybacks, assault weapons bans, red flag laws and even condoning law enforcement to raid homes of citizens with guns, the Dems’ rhetoric may have backfired.

Who is actually benefiting off the gun debate from the presidential hopefuls? None other than their nemesis, the NRA. According to the National Review, the “NRA’s political action committee had an explosive month of fundraising in September after Democratic 2020 presidential candidates openly backed confiscating legally-owned firearms, according to Federal Election Commission documents.”

Just how much is the pac benefitting? It “raised 1.3 million in September, a $400,000 increase over previous month’s fundraising total.” The devil’s in the details, showing that “donations of under $200 accounted for $981,277 of the total.” A fact like that indicates the masses, aka average Americans, not the wealthy or lobbyist population, is fed up and determined to fight.
