Earlier today Senator Ted Cruz attempted the seemingly impossible task of getting a Biden judicial nominee to answer a question.
Cruz sparred with nominee Kenly Kiya Kato over past writings of hers justifying racial discrimination in the college admissions process. Kato deployed the “I wrote that years ago” defense, then proceeded to do everything she could to not answer if she held the same beliefs today. There were times that Cruz interrupted her where she actually looked relieved she didn’t have to struggle to cobble together some semblance of a coherent response for those brief seconds.
At one point Cruz was forced to ask if she prepared at all for the hearing.

Weeks ago Sen. John Kennedy resorted to asking Judicial nominee Anne Traum what her favorite color was in an attempt to get her to answer a single question – and that was the only one she answered.
