Just days ago, the National School Boards Association sent a widely mocked letter to Joe Biden calling for the Patriot Act to be enforced against those parents who they apparently classify as terrorists. āAmericaās public schools and its education leaders are under immediate threat,ā they write in the letter.
The Associationās President Viola Garcia then appeared on CNN toĀ beg for “reinforcements” against the parents voicing their opinions, stressing the “seriousness” of the situation.
But in clown world, one day’s widely mocked story is the next day’s public policy.
According to The Post Millennial:
After the National School Board Association called on the Biden administration to take action against unruly parents who keep showing up at school board meetings.
The Department of Justice under Attorney General Merrick Garland has taken up the cause against parents. “Garland’s DOJ, which has stated that a primary concern is domestic extremism, wrote that the FBI and US Attorney’s Offices will meet during the next month with law enforcement leaders across the country “to discuss strategies for addressing this disturbing trend.”
“Threats against public servants are not only illegal, they run counter to our nationās core values,” Garland said as part of the announcement. “Those who dedicate their time and energy to ensuring that our children receive a proper education in a safe environment deserve to be able to do their work without fear for their safety.”
Garland didn’t mention the number of incidents across the country of school boards and school administrators who have not paid any attention to parents concerns, either about critical race and gender theory or as regards COVID-inspired restrictions that have closed schools, isolated students, and stifled the education of a generation of American students.
As the U.S. still has Americans stranded in Afghanistan, faces a historic crisis on the southern border, and has yet to “crush” COVID as Biden promised, this is what the administration is directing their attention to – liberal school board members being called mean names and being made uncomfortable. Meanwhile, Biden personally shrugged off Senator Kyrsten Sinema (who is thwarting his $3.5 trillion spending bill) being publicly harassed as merely “part of the process.”
Given the policies some school boards are trying to push, giving them pushback is merely part of the process then too.
