Singer Elton John made some comments about Donald Trump that surprised liberals - and admittedly me too.
John was asked about Trump using his song “Rocket Man” as inspiration for his nickname for Kim Jong Un: “Little Rocket Man.”
As musicians are increasingly whiney about Trump using their songs at rallies, John embraced Trump referencing his work, and thought the nickname was hilarious.
In an interview with Variety at the Toronto Film Festival, John said that Trump’s nickname was “hilarious.”
"I laughed, I thought that was brilliant. I just thought, ‘Good on you, Donald.’ … Donald’s always been a fan of mine, and he’s been to my concerts many, many times. So, I mean, I’ve always been friendly toward him, and I thank him for his support. When he did that, I just thought it was hilarious. It made me laugh."
