Ronan Farrow, the journalist who arguably single-handedly took down Harvey Weinstein with his expose in the New Yorker. He then uncovered sexual victims of NBC host Matt Lauer, leading to his termination. Bombshells continue to explode as excerpts from Farrow’s upcoming book Catch and Kill: Lies, Spies and a Conspiracy to Protect Predators, were released yesterday.

Immediately catching the media’s attention was that Lauer’s accuser, Brooke Nevils, accused Lauer of rape in his hotel room during the 2014 Sochi Olympics. Nevils said she was too drunk to consent. Lauer defended himself saying all sexual acts were consensual.

Farrow’s book not only dives into the sexual attacks and victims of Weinstein and Lauer, but also on the desperate and dangerous lengths these powerful people and industries went to in order to keep Farrow quiet. A few details include “NBC trashing Farrow in an internal memo” and that Weinstein spies hacked Farrow’s phone.

An even more vile relationship was born out of Farrow’s findings: Weinstein and NBC. The Hollywood Reporter says that after “NBC told Weinstein it wasn’t running an investigation that Farrow and his reporting partner Rich McHugh had worked on for months, Weinstein sent a flattering email to Oppenheim- who responded with a cheery thank you. Weinstein then sent him a bottle of Grey Goose Vodka.”

Staffers inside NBC are disgusted at the new information by their executives. “I honestly want to throw up’ said one NBC News employee” and another network staffer said “NBC’s reputation ‘took a serious hit” after Farrows excerpts were released.
