Judge Orders Dr. Fauci and Karine Jean-Pierre to Turn Over Emails Sent to Social Media Companies

In response to a lawsuit from Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry and Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt accusing the Biden administration of working with social media companies to suppress free speech, U.S. District Court Judge Terry Doughty ruled that the Biden admin must turn over relevant emails from Dr. Anthony Fauci and Karine Jean-Pierre within 21 days.



The lawsuit is specifically alleging censorship on COVID-related posts that go counter-narrative. Documents and emails released so far as a result of the lawsuit have already revealed that the censorship apparatus includes over 50 Biden administration officials across over a dozen twelve agencies including in “the White House, HHS, DHS, CISA, the CDC, NIAID, and the Office of the Surgeon General… the Census Bureau, the FDA, the FBI, the State Department, the Treasury Department, and the U.S. Election Assistance Commission.”

In one email, surgeon general Vivek Murthy is contacted by a senior Facebook official about a meeting they just had to “better understand the scope of what the White House expects from us on misinformation going forward.” The same Facebook official emailed the HHS to thank them about meeting to discuss the measures Facebook was implementing to address so-called COVID misinformation, which included the mass censorship and removal of pages and certain individuals from their platform. Emails showed that Facebook regularly relied on input from the CDC before making a decision to censor a user or story. 

The CDC proposed monthly “pre-debunking” meets with Facebook, and “Be on the Lookout” calls with other major social networks.

“Misinformation” was simply anything that went counter to the Biden administration’s narrative, and the censorship stretched beyond potential falsehoods. In one email chain, a White House official reached out to Facebook to ask them to remove an Anthony Fauci parody account.

During a White House press briefing yesterday, Karine Jean-Pierre was asked by a reporter "A federal judge ordered that you have 20 days to turn over emails communicating with social media companies over 'misinformation' and 'disinformation'. What are those e-mails gonna show?" She wouldn't answer the question, but did make sure to imply that if there was anything fishy going on it was somehow Donald Trump's fault.
