As we’re on the verge of entering the eighteenth month of “fifteen days to slow the spread,” Dr. Fauci at least isn’t pretending he ever wants this to end, saying during an NPR appearance that COVID-19 will be under control by the “fall of 2022.”
After much criticism for that comment, he’s since appeared on CNN to claim that he actually misspoke, and it’s by the spring of 2022 that he hopes everything can get back to normal. (And of course once we get to the spring of 2022, he can then change his tune again and continue endlessly moving back his timeline!)
