After over a year of declaring the Wuhan lab leak theory debunked, the media seems to have collectively woken up to the fact that it’s possible for Donald Trump to have been right about something. We’re now seeing them consider the “new evidence” the rest of us were aware of last year as they pretend that their initial rejection of the theory was due to science and not their own political blinders.
Early into his presidency Biden shut down a probe into the lab leak theory that was started under the Trump administration, only to have ordered a review into the origins of COVID-19 last week, with the lab theory theory being treated as one of two dominant theories.
If the COVID-19 did escape from a lab, it wouldn’t be the first time this happened. As Just the News reported:
Former Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Scott Gottlieb says accidental lab leaks “happen all the time” amid mounting intelligence that COVID-19 originated with a mishap at the Wuhan lab in China. Gottlieb told CBS’ “Face the Nationâ on Sunday that definitively determining how the pandemic started was essential to preventing future outbreaks.
Addressing the growing belief that an accident occurred at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, the former FDA boss said lab security is weak around the world.
“These kinds of lab leaks happen all the time, actually,” he explained. “Even here in the United States, weâve had mishaps, and in China, the last six known outbreaks of SARS-1 have been out of labs, including the last known outbreak, which was a pretty extensive outbreak that China initially wouldnât disclose that it came out of a lab.”
If there’s any evidence against the lab leak theory, China has yet to present it.
