If you build it, they won’t come.
The most recent numbers from the border prove that the crisis has no signs of slowing down. U.S. Customs and Border Protection encountered 180,000 illegals attempting to enter the U.S. in May, a slight increase for April that represented the fourth straight month of apprehensions growth.
The Biden administration has refused to use the term “crisis” to describe the situation while also blaming Trump for the crisis they won’t describe as such. Further proving the left’s disconnect from reality, VP Kamala Harris has gone as far as to also blame “anti-LGBTQ violence” and climate change for the border “not-crisis.”
Since it’s clear that the Biden administration isn’t going to do anything, Texas Governor Greg Abbott is taking measures into his own hands.

Abbott said at a border security summit in the U.S. border city of Del Rio yesterday: “I will announce next week the plan for the state of Texas to begin building the border wall in the state of Texas. The border crisis is no laughing matter. It’s not a tourism site for members of Congress to visit and then return to DC and do nothing.”
Abbott’s announcement comes as border towns and cities in Texas struggle with the fallout of of Biden administration policies encouraging massive amounts of illegal migrants to flood into the US. “One thing we know and that is a border crisis is plaguing the farmers, the ranchers, the residents of the entire border region. Your law enforcement officers, they are having to redirect their resources to deal with the border as opposed to deal what they normally deal with which is keeping your communities safe every day.”
Abbott blamed Biden administration’s policies for the surge in migrants, citing year-over-year increases in illegal border crossing attempts.
Abbott spoke to Laura Ingraham about the decision on her Fox News show last night. “President Trump had adequately secured our border. He had the ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy and began building the border wall and now suddenly all of that disappeared and … it has led to a dramatic increase in the number of people coming across the border,” Abbott said.
“The Biden administration has abandoned any pretense of border security, any pretense of enforcing our immigration laws,” Abbott continued. “They’ve laughed it off, just in the exact same way that the vice president laughed it off in her interview the other day, and so it is a joke to the Biden administration.”
