The Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project found a connection between President Donald Trump’s would-be assassin, Thomas Matthew Crooks, and the Washington, D.C. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) office
In a post on X, the Oversight Project reported Monday that an individual who “regularly” visited Crooks’ home and workplace also visited a building in the “same vicinity” of the FBI’s Washington, D.C. office on June 26, 2023. “Who’s device is this,” the Oversight Project wondered aloud on X.
Someone who regularly visited Crooks home and work also visited a building in Washington, DC located in Gallery Place.

The Oversight Project explained that it “found the assassin’s connections through our in-depth analysis of mobile ad data to track movements of Crooks and his associates. To do this, we tracked devices that regularly visited both Crooks’s home and place of work and followed them.”
In another post, the Oversight Project added that it had identified multiple devices located at Crooks’ home and workplace. “There were at least 9 devices linked to these AD-IDs,” the Oversight Project stated.
A separate device from the one linked to the FBI office traveled to Butler, Pennsylvania (where Crooks attempted to assassinate Trump) on July 4 and July 8. “This device stopped all activity on July 12th,” the Oversight Project revealed. Note that the attempted assassination of Trump took place on July 13.
The Oversight Project wrote that it is “willing to cooperate with legitimate investigations and share further information.” However, “For the protection of whistleblowers and our investigation, we will not be sharing further information with the congressional task force due to the connective tissue between that entity and FBI, USSS, and other entities,” stated the Oversight Project.
