Protesters showed up at the home of Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot to protest her poor job performance as mayor of Chicago. This was a liberal rally and among the groups protesting were Black Lives Matter Chicago, Chicago Teachers Union, GoodKids MadCity & Illinois Raise Your Hand. The Facebook page for the event read:
For the past 2 years, Lightfoot’s administration has continued to ignore the demands of its people. This administration has failed on multiple issues — from environmental justice to education to policing to housing and COVID recovery. Join over 30 organizations in calling out Mayor Lightfoot on her [two-]year anniversary and demand that she fulfill her broken promises.
More than 300 protesters gathered around Lightfoot’s home to note that she has been disappointing as a mayor. Many of them carried report cards, giving her “F” grades on her performance as mayor.

Although protesting outside of the homes of politicians should be frowned upon, it is at least refreshing to see a politician being held accountable by liberals doing a bad job. One of the many oddities of modern-day politics is that so many people, particularly on the Left, simply don’t care how well a politician governs. In other words, as long as you have the right position on Confederate statues and whether transsexuals should be allowed in bathrooms, a lot of liberals don’t care how big the deficit gets, how high taxes become or how out-of-control crime becomes. There are liberal politicians all over the country that have spent decades running crime-ridden, dirty, dangerous, impoverished areas. At a minimum, you’d think that the people there would at least want to put a different liberal in charge who might make things better. Of course, if Republicans could actually get elected in the worst parts of the country, then the competition alone would lead to drastic quality of life changes.
