An Israeli general, Brigadier General Dror Shalom, issued a “dire assessment” of the situation that has continued to unfold after the attacks on Saudi Arabian oil facilities by Iran. General Shalom said it is “only a matter of time” before the Islamic Republic tries to strike at Israel, as they are capable of attack him them with cruise missiles.

Despite Iran continuously denying its involvement in the Saudi oil strikes, it still warned that they were “locked and loaded” despite insisting they do not want to engage in another Gulf War, reports the UK’s Daily Star.

General Shalom believes Iran’s Major General Qassem Soleimani is the mastermind of the assault on Saudi Arabia and a potential attack on Israel. Shalom said “In the end, when he [Soleimani] takes a hit to the nose, he wants to hit back, and he has taken some blows recently.”

The General is concerned about Israel’s intelligence capability to adequately and correctly predict an attack from Iran. “We’re living in a much more complicated reality, which is only getting worse. We are starting to approach the level of war.”
