In his first interview since being released from Walter Reed Military hospital after being treated for depression for six weeks, John Fetterman revealed that he, just like many of us, couldn’t actually believe that he won the Pennsylvania Senate race against Dr. Mehmet Oz.

“It’s like, you just won the biggest, you know, race in the country,” he said. “And the whole thing about depression is… that objectively, you may have won, but depression can absolutely convince you that you actually lost” he told CBS Sunday Morning.

Watch below:

The interview raised further questions as to whether Fetterman even wanted the job in the first place, revealing that his depression sank to its worst depths as he waited to be sworn in. Fetterman is still recovering from a near-fatal stroke he suffered last May, and his active campaign schedule after undoubtedly worsened the recovery process.

After Fetterman’s stroke the liberal media scrambled to spin the news, resulting in truly amazing headlines including (but certainly not limited to) “John Fetterman survived a stroke. It could be an asset if he’s elected (Vox),” and “John Fetterman Gives Us a Chance to Eugenic Ideas of Fitness(Washington Post)”. Such blatant desperation from the media made it only all that more surprising when Fetterman ended up pulling off a win - especially to him.
