Mark Zuckerberg Admits to Joe Rogan FBI Warned Facebook of "Russian Propaganda" Before They Suppressed Hunter Biden Laptop Story

During an appearance on Joe Rogan's podcast, Meta CEO and founder Mark Zuckerberg revealed that Facebook algorithmically censored the Hunter Biden laptop story before the 2020 presidential election came after the FBI warned them about supposed "Russian disinformation." 

When asked by Rogan about censorship of the laptop story, Zuckerberg revealed that “The FBI, I think, basically came to us, some folks on our team, and was like hey, just so you know, you should be on high alert. We thought that there was a lot of Russian propaganda in the 2016 election. We have it on notice that basically there’s about to be some kind of dump that is similar to that. So just be vigilant.”

Zuckeberg tried to deny that the story was outright censored on Facebook, and instead tried to frame it as them "reducing the reach" of the posts. But Zuckeberg provided no numbers on what percent restricted posts about the Hunter laptop were, and as someone who did try to share stories about the laptop in October 2020, I can anecdotally attest that it was close to a 100% reduction in reach.  

Rogan asked if the FBI explicitly referenced the hard drive, with Zuckerberg adding: “I don’t remember if it was that specifically but it basically fit the pattern.”
