Former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, who ended his 2020 presidential campaign after polling at zero percent, has now decided to abandon his run for Congress and electoral politics altogether after yet another brutal poll has proven that even the nation's most liberal areas won't support him.

After a poll of likely voters for the NY-10 primary showed de Blasio polling dead last with only 3% support and 49% saying they would never support him, he announced his departure in a video on Twitter captioned "Time for me to leave electoral politics and focus on other ways to serve. I am really grateful for all the people I met, the stories I heard and the many good souls who helped out. Thank you all!"

“I’ve really listened carefully to people and it’s clear to me that when it comes to this congressional district, people are looking for another option. And I respect that," the defeated candidate said in the video. “Even though this is not going to work out, I hope you know how much I appreciate you and we’re gonna do a lot together to make this city better in the future," he added before rambling off some generic remarks about how great it was meeting everyone in the district that won't vote for him.
