Joe Biden’s approval ratings are hitting new lows seemingly every time a new poll is taken – and MSNBC contributor Jason Johnson believes that he’s figured out the mystery behind why.
You see, Biden’s approval isn’t floundering because of the stalled economic recovery, historic labor shortage, historic inflation, botched Afghanistan withdrawal, rising gas prices amid cancellations of pipeline projects, proposed $450k checks for illegals separated by the Trump administration, or the fact that Biden can’t string a complete sentence together – it’s because January 6th!
Yes, really.
According to Johnson, January 6th made Americans “feel like they were punched in the gut” (it didn’t), so Biden’s approval is falling because he “hasn’t done enough” to “fight back on our behalf,” despite there being an entire commission to investigate an event where the only victim of violence was a Trump supporter.

His thesis is contradicted by earlier reporting from under the NBC umbrella, with Chuck Todd reporting that NBC’s latest polling found that Republicans are more trusted than Democrats on all the major issues.
