The Dems and mainstream liberal media just love a good Trump is best friends with Russia story. So much so that they will throw all journalistic integrity out the window to make any attempt to show that their made-up delusional narrative is reality.
The latest example is MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell who reported on his cable “news” show earlier this week that “a single anonymous source close to Deutsche Bank told him the German lender had obtained Trump’s tax returns, which ‘show that the president pays very little income tax.”
Ok, not so mind blowing there. But he continued that the source also told him that Trump’s ‘loan documents there show that he has co-signers.” And wouldn’t you know it, luck of all luck, those “co-signers are Russian oligarchs.”
It gets better. O’Donnell concluded, with the enthusiasm of a kid in a candy shop, “that would explain, it seems to me, every kind word Donald Trump has ever said about Russia and Vladimir Putin, if true- and I stress the ‘if true’ part of this.”
Well, the “true” part was not so true after all. O’Donnell was forced to issue a retraction and apology on last night’s show. Earlier in the day he tweeted that he regretted the report:
Last night I made an error in judgement by reporting an item about the president’s finances that didn’t go through our rigorous verification and standards process. I shouldn’t have reported it and I was wrong to discuss it on the air. I will address the issue on my show tonight.
