Nick Sandmann Explains Why Left is Angry That He’s Speaking at RNC: “First Time I Testify About the Media”
Nick Sandmann, the former Covington Catholic High School student who was defamed by the media as racist for smiling at a Native American activist who confronted him last year, is scheduled to speak at the Republican National Convention next week.
Of course, the Left is angry, and Sandmann has an idea why.
Sandmann tweeted on Wednesday that “[T]he left is mad I decided to speak because it’ll be the first time I testify about the media.”

The Daily Wire summarizes what happened to Sandmann last year that caused him to become a household name:
Last January, the media smeared Sandmann and some of his classmates over misleading video footage that went viral online concerning Covington students interacting with activists in Washington, D.C. The mainstream media framed out-of-context clips in a way that painted Sandmann and other the other teen boys as aggressors and harassers. In reality, the full context showed the boys as the ones being confronted and harassed.
Following the incident, Sandmann took legal action against legacy media giants over their participation in smearing the boy.
In January, Sandmann settled a lawsuit with CNN for $275 million, and settled another with the Washington Post for $250 million in July.
Since he was a presidential candidate five years ago, President Trump has been making the case that the media is the enemy of the people. And Sandmann is living proof of that, which is why having him speak at the RNC is such a threat to the Left. It shows that the Left has no morals and will defame anyone it has to in order to fulfill its sole principle of power.
