During a press briefing yesterday, Joe Biden decided to further depart from his campaign promise of bringing “civility” to the White House, and lost it when questioned by Peter Doocy about inflation, which is at a four-decade high on Biden’s watch.
“Do you think inflation is a political liability…in the midterms?” Doocy asked.
Biden could be heard on a hot mic, sarcastically beginning “That’s a great asset. More inflation,” before adding “What a stupid son of a b*tch.”
It’s unclear if Biden knew his mic was live.
Doocy immediately laughed off the incident on The Five, telling Jesse Waters “nobody has fact-checked him yet and said it’s not true.”
Doocy later appeared on Hannity and said Biden called him to say “It’s nothing personal, pal,” but never apologized (and Doocy said he didn’t need any apology).
It’s quite the contrast from the cries of “attacks on the free press” we’d hear from Jim Acosta and other journos any time they were slammed by Trump.
