Former President Barack Obama has endorsed over 100 Democrat candidates ahead of the upcoming midterms, and the woman the media has promoted as a “rising star” within the party is no where to be seen.
As Fox News reports:
Obama endorsed more than 100 Democratic candidates running for office this November, but didn’t offer his support to progressive Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
In a statement on Monday, Obama announced his first wave of support for 118 Democrats running for federal, statewide and state legislative offices from 17 states, including New York, New Jersey, California, Texas, Illinois, Arkansas, Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Nebraska and Nevada.
The former president said that the group of candidates makes him “optimistic not just about our party’s chances in November but about our country’s future so long after that.”
This must represent some change in Obama’s thinking, because he did endorse AOC in October 2018 against her Republican opponent, but not this time around. Perhaps her performance in office has changed his mind.
It’s somewhat refreshing that for all crazy as the Democrat Party has become, Obama is at least willing to draw the line somewhere.
For now.
