One-Third of Democrats Believe Biden Accuser
I may have spoken soon when I previously said that Democrats are “no longer believing all women” – “only” two-thirds of them are in that boat!
And they’ll probably still vote for him anyway.
According to the District Herald:
A new poll conducted by Hill-HarrisX found that while party leadership has been quick to dismiss the Tara Reade allegations, voters are not on the same page.
“Thirty-four percent of Democrats in the May 11-12 poll believe the harassment claims made by former Senate staffer, Tara Reade, and 30 percent believe the sexual assault accusations,” the pollsters found.
“By contrast, 66 percent of Democratic voters said they did not believe the harassment allegations while 7 in 10 said they did not believe the sexual assault claims,” the pollsters continued.
While opinion among Democrats is black and white between either believing Reade or not, most voters haven’t made their minds up. However, among those who do have an opinion, and especially among those following the story, more believe Reade than Biden.
According to a poll published on April 30th from Rasmussen Reports: 34% of Likely U.S. Voters believe Tara Reade’s accusation that Biden sexually assaulted her in 1993. The likely Democratic presidential nominee has denied the claim, but only 24% think he is telling the truth. A sizable 41%, however, is undecided. Among voters who have been following Very Closely, 60% think the accuser is telling the truth.
Biden’s initially strategy of simply ignoring the allegations in hopes that they’d go away doesn’t seem to have worked.
