The Pentagon has discovered $12.8 billion from projects which could be used to fund President Trump’s border wall, according to the Epoch Times.

A Department of Defense spreadsheet released by Sen. Jack Reed (D-RI) lists military construction projects in which funds could be shifted from in order to build a barrier along the southern border.

The Times reports:

The Pentagon list represents an initial step in the vetting process to decide which project funds will be tapped for the wall. The criteria for the selection included only projects that have not yet been awarded as of December 2018. Projects with award dates in the fiscal year 2019, military housing, barracks, and dormitory projects will not be impacted, according to the fact sheet.

Construction projects were identified on military bases overseas and within the United States..

The Washington Examiner notes:

But it’s not clear which projects the Defense Department will draw from. Some states that have been allocated big chunks of money that haven’t been spent could see a hit.

California, for example, was identified as having more than $700 million in unused Army and Navy military construction that could be used. Hawaii has more than $400 million that could be used.

More than $200 million in similar funding allocated for Hawaii, Maine, New York, North Carolina, Guam, Germany, Guam, and Guantanamo Bay Cuba are also on the list.
