A new poll revealed the majority of Americans are fully aware of the media’s left-wing bias, with an overwhelming majority indicating they believe the press will give Joe Biden friendlier coverage than was afforded to Donald Trump.

From Just the News:

Seventy-one percent of respondents said “the national news media will be friendlier to President Biden than it was to President Trump.”

Just 14% disagreed, while a slightly larger number — 15% — was unsure.

Republicans were unsurprisingly most likely to agree that Biden was in for friendlier coverage, with 82% saying the media would afford him that luxury while only 8% said they wouldn’t, while another 10% were unsure.

But Democrats indicated they were also aware of the media bias, with 66% indicating they believed Bien would receive more favorable coverage, while only 19% believed he wouldn’t. Another 15% of Democrats answered that they were unsure.

Trump’s poor relationship with the media was not exactly a secret, a trend that went all the way back to when he announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination in 2015:

Trump throughout the course of his candidacy and presidency slammed the media as unfair, biased and dishonest, while major media outlets overwhelmingly covered the president negatively, including, for several years, via the ultimately debunked Trump-Russia conspiracy theory.

Just a week into Biden’s administration, the press has already been accused of treating the new president with kid gloves. Former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley took to Twitter earlier this week to blast reporters over their unfair coverage, while American Conservative Union Chairman Matt Schlapp noted that the media seems to be in a “honeymoon stage.”

“This is the normal honeymoon that tends to happen with presidents. Unfortunately for Donald Trump, they started off in divorce court with the press, and they never let up for one day,” Schlapp said.

A Harvard study found that during Trump’s first 100 days as president, media coverage across all stories was 80% negative.
