President Trump Doesn’t Rule Out Rehiring an Exonerated Michael Flynn
On Monday, during his daily coronavirus task briefing, President Trump was asked whether he would bring General Flynn back into his administration if Flynn is exonerated from his involvement with the infamous Mueller/Spygate probe.
Trump said, “I will only say this: I think that General Flynn is a wonderful man. He had a wonderful career and it was a disgrace what happened to General Flynn. Let’s see what happens now. But what happened to General Flynn should never happen again in our country.”
Earlier this week President Trump retweeted a post from Fox Business anchor Maria Baritomo claiming that her sources told her that Flynn could be “completely exonerated” as early as this week.
In 2017, during the Mueller investigation, Flynn plead guilty to lying to the FBI about his communications with Russian ambassador Sergei Kislyak. However, the plea was obviously forced, as the prosecutors allegedly threatened Flynn’s son and were bankrupting the former general in legal fees.
However, Flynn’s counsel, led by Sydney Powell, received Brady evidence, pretrial information that could exonerate a defendant, to absolve Flynn.
“This afternoon, the government produced to Mr. Flynn stunning Brady evidence that proves Mr. Flynn’s allegations of having been deliberately set up and framed by corrupt agents at the top of the FBI,” Flynn’s attorneys said in an eight page filing on Friday.
According to Flynn’s attorneys, “the evidence defeats any argument that a key interview with Flynn on January 24, 2017 (the interview with the FBI where the prosecutors claimed Flynn lied), was material to any investigation,” Just the News reports.
In other words, the entire case against Flynn was built on a lie, and he did nothing wrong. This would make Flynn an entirely free man.
After all he has been through, Flynn deserves his job back, should he choose to seek it. Even if it’s just to own the libs, it would be sweet, poetic justice.
