Obama supporters are paying homage to their middle school days by trolling President Trump. Elizabeth Rowin, the woman who started the petition spoke with Newsweek and said she “honestly started it as a joke…I saw a comedian joke about how it would make Trump so mad if it was named after former President Obama and thought why not.”
Rowin wrote to New York City Council and supposedly “got responses from several members assuring they would pursue the case.” The petition specifically addresses renaming stretch of Fifth Avenue between 56th and 57th street, which is where Trump towers is located, be named “President Barack H. Obama.”
The “joke” petition started last October and 56-year-old Elizabeth Rowin said “the city should honor the president responsible for taking out Osama Bin Laden” and that Rowin and petition backers “want to honor the leader for being ‘scandal-free’ and ‘bringing back the economy.” Scandal free? Bringing back the economy? Giving Obama credit for hunting Osama Bin Laden who was found thanks to the policies of the Bush administration? Clearly Mrs. Rowin has never used google.
Not surprisingly, the petition has been distributed on the incredibly left-wing website moveon.org, a favorite media outlet for the most liberal leaning constituents. Keep trolling Dems, President Trump has more important business to worry about than street names.
