According to Representative Cori Bush, a Democrat who is also a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, the biggest beneficiaries of abortion are those who cannot get pregnant.
While attempting to argue that abortion is “life saving healthcare” during a House Oversight and Accountability Hearing, Bush held up abortion pills and said “This is what an abortion looks like. ... Medicine is an essential form of healthcare, lifesaving. These five pills are safe. These five pills are effective. Medication abortion pills like this are no different than another medication that is safe and effective.” She then explained that the pills are nearly 98% effective in terminating pregnancies - which doesn’t exactly sound “life saving.”
As if things couldn’t get more absurd, Bush also decided this was a perfect opportunity to rattle off some words from the progressive bingo board and pander towards the transgender community, describing abortion drugs as a “lifeline” to them. “It is a lifeline for the trans folks who face transphobia and bigotry because of anti-LGBT+ laws and outrageous bans on gender-affirming care.”

This pandering from Bush is so niche that one has to wonder what the point even is. Not only are transgender individuals estimated to be only about 0.3% of the U.S. population, of that fraction of a percent of the population, fewer than 5% of transgender people preserve their fertility.
