Republicans Introduce Resolution Censuring Biden For “Failure To Execute Duties Of His Office” on Border

Twenty three Republican House members introduced a resolution censuring Joe Biden for “failure to execute the duties of his office” on the border.

In the censure resolution, the group notes that the President has a Constitutional duty to enforce the laws on the books:

Whereas Article II, Section 3 of the United States Constitution imposes a duty on the President to ‘‘take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed’’;

Whereas the Constitution does not delegate authority to the President to rewrite or amend constitutionally enacted laws;

From there, they note numerous ways that Joe Biden isn’t living up to his obligations under the Constitution:

Whereas on February 5, 2021, the President suspended agreements with certain Central American countries resulting in a massive surge of people at the southern border claiming asylum;

Whereas on February 18, 2021, the President began allowing criminal aliens with felony records to remain in the United States;

Whereas one year ago under President Trump, there were 1,400 unaccompanied minors in Department of Health and Human Services custody, and now under President Biden there are 22,000;

Whereas in more than four months, Secretary Mayorkas has failed to faithfully uphold his oath and has instead presided over a reckless abandonment of border security and immigration law enforcement, at the expense of the U.S. Constitution and security of the United States

Democrats like Joe Biden are playing an unconstitutional and dangerous game when they pick and choose which laws they’re going to support. That’s because two parties can and very well may play that same game. If Joe Biden isn’t going to enforce our immigration laws, why should a Republican President enforce tax laws? I mean, why can’t say, President DeSantis, decide that the Capital Gains and Death Tax doesn’t apply for 4 years? That’s not good for our country. If we get to the point where each party just ignores the laws on the book that it doesn’t like, the rule of law no longer truly exists.  That’s why even Democrats should be speaking out against what Joe Biden is doing.
