Former Virginia Governor and current Virginia Gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe was confronted by County Sheriff Hank Partin for his ties to the “defund the police” movement.
McAuliffe tried to dodge by saying that he simply accepts the endorsement of anyone, itself an embarrassing admission. Partin replied that McAuliffe’s answer was “unbelievable,” adding “I don’t believe [I heard] an answer” his his questions. That prompted McAuliffe to explode, angrily firing back “Well, I don’t care what you believe. I’ve got a track record. And I’m proud of that track record and I funded the police. I’ve never been for defund the police, so don’t bring your political rhetoric in here to me. I’ve got a record. I deal in facts!”
Speaking of facts, McAuliffe was endorsed by New Virginia Majority, which supports defunding the police and abolishing prisons.
