Susan Rice is the next out at the White House after announcing today that she’ll be stepping down as Joe Biden’s domestic policy adviser. The timing comes right as Biden is expected to officially announce his 2024 run.
In a statement, Biden said that “Susan was synonymous with foreign policy, having previously served as National Security Advisor and UN Ambassador,” and credited her with strengthening ObamaCare, reducing gun violence (which is up under Biden’s tenure), and advancing police reform policies (that will inevitably increase violence, including gun violence), among other faux-accomplishments.
Rice will depart the White House next month on May 26th, and it's unclear what she has planned next as of writing.
Rice has had a number of “greatest hits” over the years.
I am deeply grateful to @potus for trusting and empowering me to serve as his Domestic Policy Advisor. I love the team @ DPC and in the @WhiteHouse. There are no more dedicated public servants. I am so proud of all we have been able to accomplish together for the American people.— Susan Rice (@AmbRice46) April 24, 2023
Most notably, Susan Rice infamously blamed a YouTube video for the 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi. Not only was there never any evidence for this, this was pitched as a plausible explanation by Rice despite Libya being a country where fewer than 20% of the population even uses the internet.
When leftist rioters were burning cities to the ground during the summer of 2020 “racial justice” protests, Rice floated the possibility that those wrecking havoc weren’t true leftists, but agitators doing the bidding of Vladimir Putin. “Based on my experience, this is based right out of the Russian playbook,” she told CNN, adding that “I would not be surprised to learn that they have fomented some of these extremists on both sides using social media" and were funding the unrest.
And just earlier this month, Rice came under fire in a New York Times report that she and others in the Biden administration were aware of child labor law violations involving migrant minors that she largely ignored.Matt Palumbo is the author of Fact-Checking the Fact-Checkers: How the Left Hijacked and Weaponized the Fact-Checking Industry and The Man Behind the Curtain: Inside the Secret Network of George Soros
