Brennan Unhinged: Slams Trump, Barr Memo in Late Night Tweet

Disgraced former CIA Director John Brennan jumped at the chance to respond to President Trump’s tweet about him last night, claiming the Mueller report showed an abundance of “evidence of collusion and obstruction of justice.”

President Trump tweeted about Brennan, writing, “John Brennan on the Mueller probe, ‘I don’t know if I received bad information, but I THINK I SUSPECTED THAT THERE WAS MORE THAN THERE ACTUALLY WAS.’ Wow, he admits he was wrong! Congress should go back to work on drug prices etc.”

President Trump’s tweet was a reference to Brennan’s March 25 appearance on MSNBC’s Morning Joe shortly after the release of the Mueller report.

When asked if he was surprised by the fact that Special Counsel Robert Mueller did not find evidence of collusion in his Russia probe, Brennan replied, “Well, I don’t know if I received bad information but I suspected there was more than there actually was…”

Brennan replied to the President’s tweet minutes later, writing, “I subsequently learned from the Mueller report that there was a lot more evidence of collusion and obstruction of justice than was indicated in the misleading & highly politicized Barr memo. Your obvious fear of Congressional action is warranted & your dishonesty is appalling.”

Rep. Amash Faces Pro-Trump Challenger After Impeachment Remarks

Congressman Justin Amash (R-MI) faces a pro-Trump primary challenger after tweeting over the weekend that the president has “engaged in impeachable conduct.”

Michigan State Rep. Jim Lower was quick to criticize Amash and announced his run for Congress today.

WWMT reports that Lower released a statement saying, “I am a Pro-Trump, Pro-Life, Pro-Jobs, Pro-2nd Amendment, Pro-Family Values Republican. Amash has not only failed to support President Trump as the President works to make the United States stronger and safer, he has now united with radical liberals like Democratic Congresswomen Rashida Tlaib (D-Detroit) to try and bring down our President. He must be replaced and I am going to do it.”

On Saturday, Amash made headlines as the first Republican Congressman to call for Trump’s impeachment.

He tweeted:

“Here are my principal conclusions:

1. Attorney General Barr has deliberately misrepresented Mueller’s report.
2. President Trump has engaged in impeachable conduct.
3. Partisanship has eroded our system of checks and balances.
4. Few members of Congress have read the report.”

On Sunday, President Trump responded to Amash, calling him a “total lightweight.”

He wrote, “Never a fan of @justinamash, a total lightweight who opposes me and some of our great Republican ideas and policies just for the sake of getting his name out there through controversy. If he actually read the biased Mueller Report, “composed” by 18 Angry Dems who hated Trump….”

Barr Speaks About Latest Investigation into Origins of Russia Probe

In his first interview since becoming attorney general, Bill Barr provided details into the latest investigation into the origins of the Trump-Russia probe.

Speaking exclusively to Fox News’ Bill Hemmer, Barr said “The first step is to find out exactly what happened, and we’re trying to get our arms around that, getting all the relevant information from the various agencies and starting to talk to some of the people that have information.”

“I think there’s a misconception out there that we know a lot about what happened,” he continued.

“The fact of the matter is Bob Mueller did not look at the government’s activities,” Barr said.  “He was looking at whether or not the Trump campaign had conspired with the Russians. But he was not going back and looking at the counterintelligence program. And we have a number of investigations underway that touch upon it — the main one being the office of inspector general that’s looking at the FISA warrants.”

Barr said “some very strange developments” took place between Election Day 2016 and Inauguration day–specifically the January 2016 briefing then-FBI Director James Comey gave then President-elect Trump about the salacious and unverified Russian dossier.

“That’s one of the things … we need to look at,” Barr said.

Earlier this week, Barr appointed Connecticut U.S. attorney John Durham to “examine the origins of the Russia investigation and determine if intelligence collection involving the Trump campaign was ‘lawful and appropriate.’”

Durham has previously investigated corruption in law enforcement and the destruction of CIA videos.

Barr also called Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s claims of him lying to Congress as “laughable” and slammed the “political circus” the Democrats created by voting to hold him in contempt of Congress.

“That’s part of the usual … political circus that’s being played out. It doesn’t surprise me,” he said to Hemmer.
