Sorry, Socialists: New Poll Reveals Americans Still LOVE Capitalism

Much to the dismay of “progressive” liberals everywhere, a new Fox News poll reveals that a vast majority of Americans prefer capitalism to socialism.

Fifty seven percent of voters have a positive view of capitalism, compared to just 25 percent who feel the same about socialism.

The poll also reveals that more Americans want government to get out of their way.

Fox News reports, “The new poll, released Wednesday, asks what message voters want to send to the federal government.  Over half would say ‘leave me alone.’  About a third would ask Uncle Sam to “lend me a hand. The 34 percent saying “lend me a hand” is down from 41 percent last year and 39 percent in 2016. The 55 percent who would tell the government ‘leave me alone’ is up from 51 percent in 2018 and 54 percent in 2016.

In a new op-ed on FoxNews.com, Dan breaks down some of the main reasons why Americans still love capitalism and why he thinks the numbers could be even higher than the Fox poll reveals.

Fox News Poll: Plurality of Democrats Want U.S. to Move Towards Socialism

The latest Fox News poll finds that a plurality of Democrats think it would be a “good thing” for the United States to move towards more socialism.

Voters were asked if it was a “good thing or a bad thing for the United States to move away from capitalism and more toward socialism.”

Forty percent of Democrats said it would be good, while only 34 percent said it would be bad.

Fox News reports:

Among all voters polled, 54 percent said a move toward socialism would be bad, with only 24 percent saying it would be good. Republicans were more united against the shift, with 80 percent saying socialism would be a bad move, and eight percent saying it would be good.

The results of the Fox poll come on the heels of a Gallup poll from earlier this month which found that Democrats now view socialism more favorably than capitalism.

“For the first time in Gallup’s measurement over the past decade, Democrats have a more positive image of socialism than they do of capitalism,” states the report.

“Attitudes toward socialism among Democrats have not changed materially since 2010, with 57% today having a positive view. The major change among Democrats has been a less upbeat attitude toward capitalism, dropping to 47% positive this year — lower than in any of the three previous measures. Republicans remain much more positive about capitalism than about socialism, with little-sustained change in their views of either since 2010.”

Disturbing Poll: Democrats are Now More Positive About Socialism Than Capitalism

Democrats now view socialism more favorably than capitalism, according to a recent Gallup survey reported on by Breitbart.

Republicans remain much more positive about capitalism than about socialism, with little sustained change in their views of either since 2010.”

Socialism is still more appealing to younger Americans than older Americans, who consistently view capitalism more favorably.

Young Americans aged 18-29 have a 51% positive view of socialism and 45% positive view of capitalism. These numbers represent a 12-point decline in younger American’s positive views of capitalism in the past two years. It also “marked shift since 2010, when 68% viewed it positively. Meanwhile, young people’s views of socialism have fluctuated somewhat from year to year, but the 51% with a positive view today is the same as in 2010.”
