Meadows: New Information to Delay Release of IG FISA Abuse Report

Congressman Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) believes that the highly anticipated Inspector General’s report on FISA abuse will be delayed due to new developments.

Speaking to Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo yesterday, Meadows said he was no longer optimistic that the report would be released by early June–a time frame originally predicted by Attorney General William Barr.

“Only [Inspector General] Michael Horowitz knows the exact time frame of when it’s coming out. Obviously the attorney general indicated that he hoped to see it in June. I’m not as optimistic now,” Meadows said. “One of the reasons for that is additional information has been given to the inspector general for them to investigate.”

The Washington Examiner points out:

Horowitz and his team have been investigating alleged FISA abuse by the Justice Department and the FBI since March 2018. The inquiry includes a focus on the FBI’s handling of the unverified dossier compiled by British ex-spy Christopher Steele and its extensive use in the FBI’s FISA applications and renewals to target former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.

The Congressman made it clear that it was strictly his opinion that the report would take longer than previously anticipated.

“I can tell you Inspector Horowitz obviously hasn’t communicated that to my knowledge to anybody on Capitol Hill. But based on what I’m seeing in terms of additional information being shared with him I think it’ll be a while.”

Report: British Govt Warned U.S. About Christopher Steele’s Credibility in 2017

The British government warned U.S. officials about anti-Trump dossier author Christopher Steele’s credibility before the 2017 presidential inauguration, according to John Solomon of The Hill.

Solomon reports that “multiple” witnesses told Congress that in January of 2017, Britain’s top national security official sent a private communique to the incoming Trump administration explaining his nation’s role in the Trump-Russia collusion probe.

In the memo–hand delivered to incoming national security adviser Michael Flynn’s team–Sir Mark Lyall Grant claimed the British government lacked confidence in the credibility of Steele’s evidence of Russian collusion.

Congressman Mark Meadows (R-NC) told Solomon, “A whistleblower recently revealed the existence of a communique from our allies in Great Britain during the early days of the Russia collusion investigation.”

“Based on my conversations with that individual, and the credible timelines that are supported by other events, I made a referral to Attorney General William Barr and Inspector General Michael Horowitz for further investigation,” he continued. “There now is overwhelming evidence to suggest that on multiple occasions the FBI was warned that Christopher Steele and the dossier had severe credibility issues.”

Hannity: Sources Say Inspector General’s FISA Investigation Complete, “It’s Devastating”

Fox News host Sean Hannity said his sources tell him that Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz has completed his investigation into alleged FISA abuse and “it’s devastating.”

Speaking last night with his guests, former Republican Congressman Jason Chaffetz and Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett, Hannity said,  “I have sources telling me that Horowitz perhaps is even finished with his report and certainly the attorney general has been briefed on what is coming.”

Later in the show, the Fox News host spoke with Sen. Lindsey Graham, where he reiterated his claims about Horowitz.

“I’m also hearing Horowitz is done and it’s devastating,” Hannity said.

Graham replied, “I can’t verify if Horowitz is done. I can’t tell you what he found. But I can tell you that if you care about the rule of law you’re going to be very upset about how the DOJ and FBI behaved themselves during the 2016 election.

He continued, “If you hate Trump, you won’t care. If you love the rule of law, you’ll be very upset.”

The Washington Examiner writes, “The completion of Horowitz’s investigation would be news. Attorney General William Barr recently predicted that it would be complete in either late May or June, but there has been no official word of its progress since. A Justice Department spokesperson declined to comment”.

Barr “Reviewing Conduct” of FBI’s Russia Probe, Says IG FISA Abuse Probe Nearing End

Attorney General William Barr said today that he is “reviewing the conduct” of the FBI’s Trump-Russia probe and that the Inspector General’s investigation into FISA abuse allegations is nearing an end.

At today’s House Appropriations Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies Subcommittee hearing, Barr was asked if the Justice Department was investigating how it used the salacious and unverified anti-Trump dossier as a “predicate” for a FISA order on a United States citizen.

**LISTEN: Dan discusses the civil war brewing within the far left movement**

“The office of the inspector general has a pending investigation of the FISA process in the Russia investigation and I expect that that will be complete in probably may or June, I am told,” said Barr. “So hopefully we’ll have some answers from Inspector General [Michael] Horowitz on the issue of the FISA warrants.”

He continued, “I am reviewing the conduct of the investigation and trying to get my arms around all of the aspects of the counterintelligence investigation that was conducted during the summer of 2016.”

When asked if he would be investigating who leaked the existence of the FISA warrant against Trump campaign volunteer Carter Page, Barr replied, “I haven’t seen the referrals yet from Congressman Nunes, but obviously if there’s a predicate for an investigation it will be conducted.”

Fox News points out that Barr’s review could coincide with U.S. Attorney John Huber’s work:

Barr’s review could dovetail with the work U.S. Attorney John Huber has been doing. In 2017, former Attorney General Jeff Sessions appointed Huber to review not only alleged surveillance abuses by the Justice Department and the FBI but also the handling of the probe into the Clinton Foundation and other matters.

But Republicans have expressed concern about Huber’s investigation, saying he’s made little progress and has not interviewed individuals they believed he should. Republicans, including President Trump, have only stepped up calls to investigate the origins of the Russia investigation with the completion of the Mueller investigation.

Jerome Corsi Files Criminal Complaint Against Mueller, Says he was Pressured to Lie

Former Infowars editor and author Jerome Corsi filed a complaint against Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team on Monday, accusing the prosecutors of threatening and coercing him to lie in his testimony.

The complaint states, “Dr. Corsi has been criminally threatened and coerced to tell a lie and call it the truth.”

Fox News reports that the 78-page document was sent to top law enforcement officials including Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker and DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz.

Corsi claims that the special counsel team wanted him to lie and say he acted as a liason between political consultant Roger Stone, Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, and the Trump campaign regarding the release of hacked emails from the DNC.

Fox News reports:

The complaint states that Mueller’s office is now “knowingly and deceitfully threatening to charge Dr. Corsi with an alleged false statement,” unless he gives them “false testimony” against Trump and others.

The purported threat of a false statement charge, according to the complaint, pertains to a July 2016 email from Stone asking him to “get to” Assange and get the pending emails.

Corsi’s complaint says he was unable to initially give “accurate” testimony on that point, until he could reload emails on his laptop. The complaint says he later amended his answers. In an interview last week with Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Corsi said Mueller’s team “was happy” with his answers until he couldn’t “give them what they wanted.”

Corsi recently revealed that he was expecting to be indicted by Robert Mueller.

“I fully anticipate that in the next few days I will be indicted by Mueller for some form or other of giving false information to the special counsel or to one of the other grand jury — or however they want to do the indictment,” he said during a live stream.  But I’m going to be criminally charged.”

Corsi claims he received a subpoena from two FBI agents in August and has since handed over two computers and access to his email and Twitter accounts.

He says he was interrogated by investigators and “quizzed” about various specific topics for months.

“Criminals are running the Department of Justice. My crime was that I dared to support Donald Trump,” Corsi said. “And that supporting President Trump, and since 2004 having written 20 books — I guess those were my crimes. I guess I’m going to prison for the rest of my life because I dared to oppose the deep state.”
