Poll: “Government” is Top Problem for Americans

A new Gallup survey conducted after the 2018 midterm elections finds that government is the “top problem” to Americans, followed by immigration.

CNSNews reports:

In the survey…the polling firm asked Americans about the country’s top problems and then listed those issues that were “mentioned by at least 3% of respondents.”

Nineteen percent of respondents cited “government” as the problem, making it the top issue of concern. In second place came “immigration,” cited by 16% of the respondents. However, when broken down politically, 29% of Republicans said immigration is a problem but only 7% of Democrats said the same.

Gallup states, “The government has commonly been cited in recent years as the most important problem facing the country, with the problem having received or been tied for the most mentions — 22 times in the last 24 months.”

Topics of less concern for Americans include “unifying the country (which 8% believe is a problem), unemployment/jobs (which 3% believe is a problem) and “gun control” (again, a topic that only 3% of respondents believe is a problem).

Five percent also said healthcare was the top problem.

Broward County “Misplaced” Over 2,000 Ballots

In the midst of the Broward County hand recount on Saturday, Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes said her office misplaced over 2,000 ballots.

According to the Florida Sun Sentinel:

The county’s eternally beleaguered Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes said they either misplaced, misfiled or mixed in with another stack.

One thing she said she was sure of: “The ballots are in this building.”

“There would be nowhere else for them to be,” Snipes said. “The ballots are in the building. The ballots are in the building.”

Snipes claimed an election worker likely misplaced the ballots saying, “I’m not blaming anyone, but many of our team members were not as well trained as some others.”

The embattled official has come under fire for her handling of elections throughout the years. She has a long history of destroying ballots, losing ballots, and allowing illegal aliens and felons to vote.

She recently suggested that racism–and not her inability to effectively and accurately oversee elections–was the likely reason for the backlash against her.

When asked by The Guardian if race was a factor in the backlash, Snipes replied “Probably. Probably.”

Many have called on Snipes to resign and–it appears–they may get their wish.

She told reporters earlier this week that it was “time to move on,” but that she has to speak with her family first.

Ep. 852 The Democrats Are Reading This All Wrong

In this episode I address the media, and the Democrats, continued attacks on Trump using “chaos,” and why these tactics are backfiring. I also address the Mueller probe and its failure to produce cooperating witnesses with evidence of “collusion.” Finally, I discuss the reasons that the Republican Party is losing in purple states like Arizona.

Palm Beach County Misses Recount Deadline, Original Vote Stands

Palm Beach County failed to meet the 3 p.m. ballot recount deadline, forcing the county to revert back to the original vote count for the midterm election, which was completed on Saturday.

Fox News reports that Palm Beach County Elections Supervisor Susan Bucher said they had “mechanical issues” which led to the missed deadline.

“It was a heroic effort and we just completed uploading our Saturday results, as was required by law. If we had three or four more hours, we might have made the time” said Bucher.

The county has encountered multiple problems throughout the election, and on Tuesday, some of the outdated machines had overheated and stopped working.

“The reality is that we were very close two nights ago and then our machines went down,” she said. “It’s not for lack of human effort.”

Some have called on Bucher to step down given her handling of the election. However, she is adamant that she’s the right person for the job.

“This is our democracy and I am here to count every vote and I will take the time that’s required and you can see I haven’t been home for three days,” she said. “I don’t think you’re going to find somebody else that has the dedication.”

Meanwhile, Broward County, which has also been plagued with problems, finished its machine recount just 14 minutes before the 3 p.m. deadline.

In all of Florida’s 67 counties, Palm Beach is the only one to miss the recount deadline.

Finally: Is Broward County’s Brenda Snipes Resigning as Elections Supervisor?

After receiving heavy criticism from Republicans across the country for her handling of the midterm elections, Broward County Supervisor of Elections, Brenda Snipes, is telling reporters “it is time to move on.”

The infamous supervisor of elections, who has a history of losing ballots and allowing felons and illegal immigrants to vote, told reporters Tuesday that it was time to move on, but that she has to speak with her family first.

Get ready, for this one, folks: Snipes says she believes she served her purpose, “which is to provide a credible election product for Broward.”

Snipes’ announcement came after a reporter asked her opinion of former Florida Governor Jeb Bush’s tweet, in which he wrote, “There is no question that Broward County Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes failed to comply with Florida law on multiple counts, undermining Floridians’ confidence in our electoral process.”

Snipes was also asked Monday about lawsuits being filed regarding “issues” with ballots, forcing her to defend her character.

“I think the lawsuits, as they are written, certainly cast Aspersions on my character and usually we build character over a period of time and character is always on display and I’ve worked here for about 15 years and I have to say this is the first time that this office or I have been under such attacks.”

When asked if “mistakes” had been made in the handling of some ballots, Snipes replied, “There have been issues that did not go over the way we wanted it, so we can call it a mistake. We can call it whatever you want to call it.”

Gillum Rescinds Concession in Florida Race; Taunts Trump on Twitter

Tensions are rising in the Florida gubernatorial race, with Democratic candidate Andrew Gillum rescinding his concession and telling an audience in Ft. Lauderdale, “You better count every vote.”

Gillum initially conceded last Tuesday, but has since reversed course, saying,””I am replacing my words of concession with an uncompromising and unapologetic call that we count every single vote.”

Gillum’s announcement came just hours after the Florida Secretary of State announced a recount in the gubernatorial, senate and agriculture commissioner races.

As it currently stands, GOP candidate Ron DeSantis leads Gillum, 49.59 percent to 49.18 percent.

Republicans have expressed serious concerns over the Broward County supervisor of elections, Brenda Snipes, who has a history of illegally destroying ballots, losing ballots and allowing illegal immigrants and felons to vote.

Consider this breakdown from Breitbart of some of Snipes’  questionable or downright illegal behavior:

  • In 2017, Dr. Snipes admitted in court that her office had allowed non-citizens and felons to vote and was particularly vulnerable ahead of major elections.
  • In 2012, a Broward elections official complained about Snipes tendency to “find” additional ballots in close elections. Ilene Lieberman, a Broward County Commissioner and Canvassing board member, told the Miami CBS affiliate in 2012, “When the canvassing board recessed on Saturday we were basically told there were between 150 and 165 ballots remained to be counted, that they had to double check, that they hadn’t been counted before. And when we came back on Monday the report showed 963 new ballots.”
  • Snipes also presided over a “phantom voting district” of 2000 voters who were using illegal addresses, many of them at a UPS Store, claimed as their places of residence.
  • Republican Party officials sued Snipes’ office in 2016 over the illegal counting of 180,000 mail in ballots, she admitted that she didn’t know the meaning of the word “canvassing.” Snipes’ office had been opening ballots illegally, without the legally required participation of other members of the canvasing board.

President Trump took to Twitter today and said the elections should be called for Republican Ron DeSantis for Governor and Republican Rick Scott for Senate, citing “massively infected” ballots.

“The Florida Election should be called in favor of Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis in that large numbers of new ballots showed up out of nowhere, and many ballots are missing or forged,” he wrote.  “An honest vote count is no longer possible-ballots massively infected. Must go with Election Night!”

Gillum taunted the President, responding on the Twitter, “You sound nervous.”

Pelosi’s Prediction: Nancy Says She’s ‘100% Sure’ Dems Will Retake the House

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi doubled-down on her recent predictions of a Democratic victory on Election Day; saying she was “100% sure” her party will take control of Congress during the 2018 midterms.

I feel confident that we will win

Pelosi was speaking with reporters when she was asked if she still had a “great deal of confidence” that the Democrats will seize control of one or both Houses of Congress.

“Are you 100% sure of victory tonight?” asked one reporter.

“Yes, I am,” said Pelosi. “As I travel across the country, I listen to the VIPs: the volunteers in politics.”

“Because of the quality of our candidates, which inspires a tremendous grassroots operation… I feel confident that we will win,” she added.
