Three Texas Democrats who fled Texas to try to prevent a bill designed the safeguard the integrity of the vote in that state from passing have tested positive for COVID-19. Those positive tests came AFTER a meeting with Kamala Harris and it makes the fact that they were all flying to DC without masks seem rather notable.

The good news is that all three infected Democrats and Kamala Harris have been vaccinated. Contrary to what some people may think, getting vaccinated DOES NOT completely prevent people from covid. However, it does significantly reduce the chances that someone will get it and makes it very unlikely that a person infected will get seriously ill if they do. So happily, it’s unlikely any of these legislators will get seriously ill, but also happily, it puts an even bigger spotlight on what a clown show this whole thing has turned into for the Democrats. Texas Republican State Leadership Committee President Dee Duncan helped hammer that home by releasing a statement that in part read:
âTexas House Democrats already harmed their constituents by abandoning their jobs and halting critical legislation, and now we learn that their hypocritical maskless private jet excursion may have put others at risk,â Duncan said, adding that they âmust be held accountable for their actions and the DLCC should apologize for encouraging their behavior.â
To begin with this, this whole thing was a publicity stunt based on a lie. The Texas bill doesn’t rob anyone of the right to vote, it safeguards the vote. Moreover, ultimately, this stunt won’t even stop the bill from being passed. In addition, not only did this gang of idiots get photographed fleeing their state with a case of beer…

….they were also all photographed maskless on a plane, even though some of them had COVID, at a time when regular Americans are forced to mask up to fly. When they do finally return to Texas with their tails tucked between their legs, they’re going to face being arrested as well as hard questions about why should be paid by the citizens of Texas to go take a vacation in DC. This whole idea probably seemed slick when they came up with it, but it was a bad decision that also turned out to be bad politics.
