President Trump walked out of a meeting today with Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), calling their discussion a “total waste of time.
“Just left a meeting with Chuck and Nancy, a total waste of time,” he wrote on Twitter. “I asked what is going to happen in 30 days if I quickly open things up, are you going to approve Border Security which includes a Wall or Steel Barrier? Nancy said, NO. I said bye-bye, nothing else works!” ”

Vice President Mike Pence spoke to reporters after the brief meeting and said “The President…asked Speaker Pelosi if he opened things up quickly, if he reopened the government quickly would she be willing to agree to funding for a wall or a barrier on the southern border. And when she said no, the president said ‘goodbye.'”

The meeting came after the President addressed the nation on border security last night. Schumer and Pelosi both delivered rebuttals afterwards, where they refused to acknowledge the crisis at the southern border.
