New Jersey Senator Cory Booker (D) has dropped out of the 2020 race and President Trump was quick to comment on the development.
“Really Big Breaking News (Kidding): Booker, who was in zero polling territory, just dropped out of the Democrat Presidential Primary Race. Now I can rest easy tonight. I was sooo concerned that I would someday have to go head to head with him!” wrote Trump.

The candidate announced on Twitter that he was suspending his campaign, writing, “It’s with a full heart that I share this news—I’m suspending my campaign for president. To my team, supporters, and everyone who gave me a shot—thank you. I am so proud of what we built, and I feel nothing but faith in what we can accomplish together.”
In a video accompanying his message, Booker says, “Today I am suspending my campaign for president with the same spirit with which it began. It is my faith in us, faith in us together as a nation that we share common pain and common problems that can only be solved with a common purpose and a sense of common cause.”
Booker said he plans to help whichever candidate receives the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination and said, “So now I recommit myself to the work. I can’t wait to get back on the campaign trail and campaign as hard as I can for whoever is the eventual nominee and for candidates up and down the ballot.”
The Senator thanked his supporters and said, “Campaigning over this last year has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life.”

The New Jersey Senator struggled with both fundraising and polling since he entered the race, and as Bongino.com reported in November, a Pro-Booker super-PAC closed after raising just $1.1 million of its $10 million goal.
