President Trump slammed Empire actor Jussie Smollett after Chicago police said the star orchestrated a fake hate crime attack.
On Twitter this morning, the president wrote, “@JussieSmollett- what about MAGA and the tens of millions of people you insulted with your racist and dangerous comments!? #MAGA.”
Smollett was arrested last night after police officially classified him as a suspect for allegedly filing a false police report about the incident. Smollett had claimed he was the victim of a homophobic and racist attack in Chicago where two men poured a chemical substance on him, put a rope around his neck and said “This is MAGA country!”

Now, police say Smollett paid two Nigerian brothers to carry out the phony attack because he was “dissatisfied with his salary.”
Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson didn’t mince words about Smollett during a press conference earlier today.
“I’m left hanging my head and asking why: Why would anyone, especially an African-American man, use the symbolism of a noose to make false accusations?,” he said. ” How could someone look at the hatred and suffering associated with that symbol…how can an individual who has been embraced by the city of Chicago turn around and slap everyone in this city by making this false claim?”
