VP Kamala Harris’ fake accent returned as she attempted to pander at Jesse Jackson’s retirement party in Chicago on Sunday by heaping nonsensical praise on him.
“And early on. Just think about it. Early on, he [Jackson] even had the audacity to name this coalition the national RAINBOW coalition. Think about that. He defined the rainbow! He was one of the first to define the rainbow,” Harris said.
Jackson was retiring as the head of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, the self-proclaimed civil rights organization that he founded.

While it’s unclear what “defining the rainbow” actually entails, it seems unlikely Jesse Jackson would be the first to do it.
Harris has varied up her fake accents over the years to fit her audience. In November 2021 she was widely mocked for faking a French accent while speaking in Paris. Following Hillary Clinton’s lead, Harris has also faked a southern accent numerous times over the years. In one case, during one of the Democrat primary debates in 2015, she adopted a southern drawl while responding to just a single question, and then it never returned for the rest of the debate.
