Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) was called out by a radio host this morning for lying about her Native American heritage, calling her “the original Rachel Dolezal.”
In an interview on the left-leaning nationally syndicated radio show, “The Breakfast Club,” host “Charlamagne tha God” compared Warren to Dolezal, the former NAACP leader who pretended to be African American.
“You’re kind of like the original Rachel Dolezal a little bit — Rachel Dolezal is the white woman pretending to be black,” he said.
Warren responded, “No, this is what I learned from my family.”
Warren also appeared to dodge a question from Charlamagne when he asked the senator when she found out she was not actually Native American.
“I’m not a person of color. I’m not a citizen of a tribe, and tribal citizenship is an important distinction and not something I am,” she replied.
Watch @cthagod grill @ewarren on her heritage. "When did you find out that you weren't [Native American]?" "Were there any benefits to that?" "You sound like the original Rachel Dolezal a little bit" @breakfastclubam pic.twitter.com/GFzH8JqSqN
