Socialist Senator and presidential candidate Bernie Sanders (D-VT) dodged Fox News host Martha MacCallum’s question when asked why he wouldn’t voluntarily pay more in taxes during a town hall last night.
After Sanders explained that during his 2016 campaign, he suggested a wealth tax of 52 percent, MacCallum asked, “So would you be willing to pay 52% on the money that you made? You can volunteer, you can send a check…”
A feisty Sanders responded, “Well you can volunteer, too…”
MacCallum fired back, “But you suggested that that’s what everybody in your bracket should do…”
“Well Martha, why don’t you give? You make more money than I do,” replied Sanders.
“I didn’t suggest a wealth tax,” replied the Fox News host.
“And she’s not running for president,” chimed in host Bret Baier.
