President Trump fulfilled the personal wish of a terminally ill supporter and placed a heartwarming phone call after learning of his battle with cystic fibrosis.
Jay Barrett of Connecticut received the phone call from Trump on Tuesday evening after his sister, Bridgette Hoskie arranged the surprise for him.
“You’re my kind of man, Jay. … I’m very proud of you,” Trump said in the call. “I’ll talk to you again, Jay, OK? You keep that fight going. We both fight.”
The president also promised Barrett that he would have him sit in the front row at his next rally in the region.
“I’ll tell you what, when I’m up around that territory…you’ll be sitting front row center, Jay.”
Barrett told the President he will stick around to vote for him in 2020 and expressed his support.
“Mr. President, through thick and thin, you know there’s been a lot of thicks, and there’s been a lot of thins. I support you.”
