Earlier today the whistleblower’s redacted 9-page complaint was released by the House Intelligence Committee. It identifies “multiple” White House sources and officials as informants as the whistleblower admits in the complaint that he did not have a first hand account with the call between President Trump and Ukrainian President Zelensky.
The references how now left Trump and the White House questioning who is speaking in such a way about the President on official business to sources? Trump has even gone so far as to insinuate it is spy behavior.
The New York Times reported today that “according to three people familiar” with the whistleblower’s identity, they are a C.I.A. officer who was detailed to work at the White House “at one point.” However, “the man has since returned to the C.I.A., the people said. Little else is known about him.”
Lawyers for the whistleblower have refused to confirm that he worked for the C.I.A. and said “publishing information about him was dangerous” yet yesterday they announced he was willing to testify, so long as his legal counsel would be allowed in the hearing.
The whistleblower’s complaint made it very clear that he was not on a team that handles calls with foreign leaders, but that he learned of Trump’s “conduct” only “in the course of official interagency business.”
