Critical race theory (CRT) is at its heart little more than the open racism of the Nation of Islam, Black Israelites, Black Panthers, and New Black Panthers couched in all sorts of pseudo-intellectual academic jargon. In reality, Critical Race theory can be boiled down to a very simple concept that can be easily expressed in a sentence: “White Americans are inherently racist and so black Americans must be helped to overcome white oppression by giving them special privileges based on that and past historical events.”
Once you understand that sentence, you understand everything you need to know about how CRT approaches every issue. Most arguments inspired by CRT take the form of a Kafkatrap, whereas one’s denial of their own personal racism is used as further proof of one’s racism. Some examples are as follows:
* What if youâre white and genuinely believe youâre not racist? Well, youâre just too racist to see your own racism.
* What if youâre black and donât agree with Critical Race Theory? Youâve been oppressed so long that you donât even recognize your own oppression.
* What if youâre white and donât agree with Critical Race Theory? What else would you expect a racist to say?
* What if youâre white and agree with Critical Race Theory? Terrific, keep pretending to care until your racism inevitably forces you to undermine Critical Race Theory.
* What about the times when white Americans have clearly done things designed to benefit black Americans? Since theyâre racists who hate black Americans, they only did that because it was also in their interests.
CRT, like the Marxist-inspired critical theory that inspired it, is a closed mental loop. Itâs impossible to prove it and its adherents believe any attempts to disprove it show that youâre either racist, too brainwashed by your oppressors to get it, or just donât understand it.
Now, if youâve read this far, you actually do have a basic understanding of the root of CRT. Unfortunately, the gnarled branches of the tree that have grown from that toxic root make it even more poisonous. You see, CRT is made far worse by the fact that it views EVERYTHING through the lens of race. So, take that sentence above and apply it to every person, place, thing, and idea in American life and consider the impact. Think about how it shapes things like the view of government, the police, the economy, history, or even our whole country.
If you buy into CRT, you consider Western Civilization, the Founding Fathers, and even America itself to be fatally flawed. CRT rejects the idea of things like a meritocracy, a colorblind world, and equal opportunity. It even sees math as a racist concept designed by white people to keep a foot on the neck of black Americans. You may think this is an exaggeration, but regrettably, itâs not, as the Foundation for Economic Education documented:
Now, math education itself has been deemed âracist.â A group of educators just released a document calling for a transformation of math education that focuses on âdismantling white supremacy in math classrooms by visibilizing the toxic characteristics of white supremacy culture with respect to math.â
Among the educatorsâ recommendations, which officials in some states are promoting, are calls to âidentify and challenge the ways that math is used to uphold capitalist, imperialist, and racist views,â âprovide learning opportunities that use math as resistance,â and âencourage them to disrupt the disproportionate push-out of people of color in [STEM] fields.â
Critical Race Theory is morally every bit as repulsive as white supremacism, but itâs more mainstream, which makes it much more dangerous. Should white children be taught that theyâre irredeemably bad because of the color of their skin? Should black children be taught that theyâre victims of systemic racism who can only get ahead if theyâre given special privileges based on their skin color?
Exposing any child to this sort of mental rat poison borders on child abuse and is corrosive for our entire society. If, as proponents of Critical Race Theory believe, America is inherently a bad place and white Americans by their very nature oppress black Americans, how are we all supposed to live together in a multiracial nation? Critical Race Theory is simply not compatible with living in a multi-racial republic and teaching it to American kids is utterly irresponsible madness.
