Woman Charged With Hitting George Floyd Rioter With Car Found Not Guilty of Assault

In case anyone has already forgotten, it is worth noting that one of the frequent features of the George Floyd protests/riots was “protesters” blocking the roadway. From there, that would often evolve into screaming abuse at drivers while the “protesters” attempted to get in and hit the car.

When that happened to Jennifer Watson in Denver, she gunned it through them and swerved, perhaps accidentally, perhaps not, and hit one of the people attacking her car.  The footage is something to see.

If you listen to liberals, these were “peaceful protesters.” If you read what actually happened, that’s not true at all:

Watson’s lawyers argued that she was in fear of being harmed during the May 2020 protest occurring in Denver, with the defense noting “she was surrounded by people who began kicking and hitting her car and taunting and yelling at her.”

“On the evening of May 28, 2020, my client was just trying to get home, driving a route she took regularly, when she was diverted by protesters at the intersection of East Colfax and Broadway,” her lawyer noted in a statement last year.

“She was alone in her car with her dog when she was surrounded by people who began kicking and hitting her car and taunting and yelling at her,” the statement continued. “While stopped, Mr. Max Bailey jumped up onto the hood of her car and her windshield was smashed in two places. She was terrified and fearful for her safety.”

Moments later, Bailey is seen being tossed from the vehicle, landing on his feet. But Watson appears to turn towards him and strikes him with her vehicle before speeding away.

The jury found Watson innocent of assault, but they did find her guilty of reckless driving, which is a misdemeanor charge.

That may sound like a good outcome, but is it really? Jennifer Watson was the victim here, yet she had politically motivated charges hanging over her head for more than a year. She was also slandered on social media as someone who tried to run over “peaceful protesters.” Are any of those protesters who blocked her car, made her fear for her life, and attacked her car on trial? No, because those kinds of politically motivated crimes are allowed in Denver as long as the right people are doing them. This isn’t justice, it’s injustice and the real victim is Jennifer Watson.
