Senator Chuck Schumer said the quiet part out loud after the FBI's unprecedented raided Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago on Monday.

While mostly dodging questions from MSNBC's Rachel Maddow about the raid, appearing uncomfortable at times, Schumer did admit that he thinks/hopes Republicans "are going to pay a price for this in the election, and I think Democrats should use it as an issue - that the rule of law, that the protection of democracy is a key issue. And we better watch out if we give Republicans power in either the House of Senate."

The raid, which was enabled by a warrant signed by a judge that once quit his job at the U.S. Attorneys office while it was prosecuting Jeffrey Epstein to represent Epstein's associates, had been prophesied by Schumer a half-decade prior.

Also speaking to Rachel Maddow, back in 2017 before Trump took office he told her that the intelligence community would have ways of taking revenge on Trump, who had been heavily criticizing them. "You take on the intelligence community, they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you, so even for a practical, supposedly hard-nosed businessman, he’s being really dumb in doing this."

When asked by Maddow how exactly they would get back at him, Schumer replied “I don’t know. But from what I am told, they are very upset with how he has treated them and talked about them.
