John Kirby Dismissively Responds to Question About Biden Accuser Saying Her Life Is in Danger

 

The case of Joe Biden sexual assault accuser Tara Reade has taken another unexpected turn.

Last month she issued a cryptic message that she “wasn’t suicidal,” on her Twitter posted.”I want to make something clear. If something happens to me, all roads lead to Joe Biden," Reade wrote. “Joe Biden and DNC political machine threats, bullying and intimidation over the last three years will not work.”

While she promised to testify before Congress if asked in her cryptic tweet, Reade has since defected to Moscow, which she claims was for her safety. She spoke at a news conference with Sputnik International (a Russian State-owned news agency), where she said she was living in fear of reprisal for coming forward with her claims during the 2020 presidential election. 

“From what I could see based on the cases and based on what was happening and sort of the push for them to not want me to testify, I felt that while this election is gearing up and there's so much at stake, I'm almost better off here and just being safe,” Reade said.

Predictably, Reade’s actions have resulted in their own new “Russian collusion narrative,” with one former Defensive Intelligence Agency officer claiming to Fox that "Tara Reade is being “played by Putin’s regime to stick it to Biden and give the story about the sexual assault allegation another run, in the aftermath of his announcing his run for re-election in 2024.” No concern was even given to the validity of her claims.

White House NSC spokesman John Kirby was asked about the development, in which case he replied dismissively that he would be “loath to comment on the musings of a potential Russian citizen,” as if these allegations hadn’t been public since 2020.  

He added “The one thing I will say is that the allegations that her life is at risk by the United States government—absolutely false, baseless. There’s nothing to that.” Though of course, if there was anything to them, that isn’t exactly the sort of thing that they’d be admitting.
