Former Atlanta Mayor turned Director of the Office of Public Engagement under Joe Biden Keisha Lance Bottoms argued that among the reasons the President hasn’t visited the border is fear of causing a traffic jam.
Speaking to CBS host Margaret Brennan, she said "You have to remember, Margaret, when the president travels, it’s not like you or I jumping on an airplane, then getting off and going to our destination. Everything comes to a halt. So all of these things are in consideration for the president. Is that the best use of resources? All of the resources that will be diverted on the ground when the president makes a visit.”

The man can barely draw dozens to his rallies, but now we’re worried about him holding up traffic? When pressed by Brennan further on why Biden hadn’t visited the border we got a more honest answer for the first half of her response, with her replying "I can't speak to why he has or has not gone, I'm just speaking to the fact that it's a bit more disruptive for the president of the United States to travel than you or I.”
Earlier this month, rather than make excuses for why Biden hasn’t gone to the border, White House Press Secretary implemented her time-honored strategy known as “lying,” and assured the American public “"He’s been there. He’s been to the border”
In October of last year, Doocy questioned then-Press Secretary Jen Psaki on the same subject, and she cited Biden’s drive past the El Paso border in 2008 when he was campaigning with Obama as an example of him visiting the border.
Meanwhile at ABC, Martha Raddatz attempted to argue that the problem isn’t that the border is open, the problem is that Republicans are noticing that the border is open.
You’d think at this point it would be easier for them all if Biden would just visit the border.
Of course, it’s not like that would actually change anything. If his past policies are any indication of the future, a Biden border visit would simply be followed up with even more inaction.
