We knew she’d been around for a while - but we didn’t know it was that long!
While speaking to the 2023 “We Are EMILY” Gala, Joe Biden credited Nancy Pelosi with saving America from the Great Depression.
“with Nancy leading the way, you never had to worry about whether the bill would pass. If she said she had the votes, she had the votes every time,” Biden said, to applause. “And she had to vote on so many life changing pieces of legislation. She helped rescue the economy in the Great Depression; pass the Affordable Care Act; ended Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.”
This, of course, wouldn’t be possible, because Pelosi was born one year after the great depression had ended.

Similarly, during the 2008 presidential race, Biden claimed Franklin Delano Roosevelt went on TV after the stock market crash of 1929. FDR was not President in 1929, and TV hadn’t yet been invented until 1939, a year before Pelosi was born.
